Its 3 weeks since I came back to Ireland and my first impressions arent great!

Although it was my decision to leave THailand and move home to Ireland I have found it much harder to adjust than I thought!  Things have definitely changed since I have been gone - some good, some bad.

I suppose the fact that I am not working isnt helping.  I have started the job hunting process but it will take some time before something decent happens - unless I get lucky.  Although I have plenty of experience it would appear that people are always looking for something extra - something that I dont yet have!! However, I can more than compensate for anything based on my experiences to date.  I have worked successfully in many different industries and job roles.  In this day and age I think that adaptability and flexibility are extremely important.

In the meantime I am working on an internet project that could be big.  It is not a new idea but I think it will have a significant impact on business online in Ireland.  Actually, I am surprised that it hasnt been done already!  So at least I have something to keep my busy.  I am also brushing up on my project management skills by reading relevant books!  Great fun!

THis weekend was probably my most active on the social front.  Friday was beers and tonight I am going to Snoop Dogg and P Diddy in the Point Depot.  I do like my hip-hop and am really looking forward to this concert!  SHould be fun!

United are going well in the league too and forunately enough I got to see the game live - on RTE 2!  Fair play.  I really thought I would have problems getting to see live matches on a Saturday but RTE came up trumps!

My container should be here in a couple of weeks.  Still trying to sort out the freight forwarder in Ireland.  They are crap so far!

Ireland is also going through a strange period.  THere is a lot of talk about a recession, falling property prices, a new election on the horizon and basically not many people are optimistic as to the future.

Time will tell.

Yes, I do miss THailand but I still think it was the right move to come home.  IT may not seem like that now but I am sure over time my decision will be rewarded!!!
