Settling into things OK now. However, too many technical glitches!

News

It has been a while since my last update. However, I have just spent a full 2 hours writing a really long update and then my PC crashed with the bluescreen of death and I lost everything.
So I don’t have the patience to write all that again. Instead I am going to keep it brief.
Yes I am settling back better into things in Ireland. Cost of living is crazy expensive but during the summer and the long evenings Ireland is a nice place to live.
I have signed up for a permanent contract with HP and I think I will be staying a little longer in Ireland.
Nang is back and going through the usual visa applications. Hopefully she can stay until October and then we will go for a holiday to Thailand.
Have to mention that I got a bad deal with Eamon Walsh garage in Dalkey. He over charged on my service – after promising that he wouldn’t. Don’t use him!

Politics & Biz

Bertie is gone and Cowen is in.
A NO vote on Lisbon. Politicians cannot be trusted and this stems from Haughey and Bertie. Bertie was even explaining his wealth by a few big wins on the horses – does he think we are stupid? Maybe some people are cause they voted him in 3 times!
Thailand is demonstrating again. Storm in a teacup – I hope.
I am hoping to sell my Villa in Cha-am – just not getting the use out of it that I hoped when I bought it. Its not as if I can take a weekend in Cha-am while living in Ireland. However, I still think I will be able to make a decent profit on it.

Sport

United won the double.
Euro 2008 is on and is a great tournament.

Techie

Slingbox is working great but quality is only OK for watching football.
I may look at buying the 3G iPhone.

Ents

We have eaten in the Cedar Tree – Lebanese restaurant in town – which was excellent. Also, the Guinea Pig restaurant in Dalkey is lovely – but pricey.
Yamamori Ramen is also a favourite of Nangs.

IMHO

I’m pissed off that after writing a detailed update that I lost it all.
So I couldn’t be arsed!
